Budynek zaprojektował na konkurs Henricha Rump. Szkieletowa konstrukcja żelbetonowa pokryta wapnem muszlowym. Na najwyższej kondygnacji mieściła się kawiarnia. Wejście dla klientów banku przyozdabia podwójny portal pokryty reliefem w stylu egipskim wykonany przez Gustawa Adolfa Schmidta.
W budynku zainstalowano windy, jedna z wind typu paciorkowego działa do dziś.
